CELTIC, Lower Danube. Uncertain tribe. 3rd century BC. AE (Bronze, 21 mm, 5.47 g, 10 h), imitating Lysimachos, King of Thrace (305-281 BC). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ Lion leaping right; below, spearhead right. Cf. Müller 76 and SNG Copenhagen 1153 (for prototype). An attractive early imitation of interesting style and with a beautiful green patina. Good very fine.
